Chuka University Organizing Secretary, Lilian Chepng'etich recently posted an update on her Facebook timeline or rather CUC Live's timeline on who or which local artist should really make an appearance during the much awaited Cultural week that should occur between 23rd and 26th dates of this month. She went ahead to urge the different cultural organizations or groups to continue preparing on the same to make that week a memorable and extra-ordinary event.
She even promised to "catch a grenade" for us just to make the event as successful as me in my last night's dream. Just kidding, grenades kill people plus I dreamt being a pilot and I'm studying Econ Stats! By the moment of writing this post, there were already about 26 comments below her status. Many were into Willy Paul Msafi, Visita and Avril. Some had misplaced comments such as "Nani ako na charger ya pin ndogo" or "Kama uliona unscratched bamba 20 yenye niliacha Litmus hotel jana usiku naomba tafadhali unirudishie" while others were complaining about why the event covered only three days yet the event was branded 'cultural week'.
According to me I would prefer if a professional Deejay was invited to the event. Why a D.j? Because a good Disc Jockey (D.J) can mix all songs belonging to those artists that could have demanded sh.100, 000 only to perform for two hours and vanish into thin air never to be heard of again. I think we Chuka comrades should stop repeating the same mistakes over and over again. Again I vote for a D.j not an artist, a deejay who can mix through all latest African House music within an astonishing span of 5 minutes and go through another round of Dancehall "rambo kanambo" for atleast 10 minutes. you all know that deejay am talking about....
Here's what she posted:
