Vitalis Shiracko a musician and current Entertainment Director Meru University detests ladies who make the first move on men, he would never date one! He also sees no need of having lesbians in campuses because he feels there are hot and handsome men out there. He speaks on his leadership challenges and issues affecting comrades.
What challenges do you face in line of duty as an entertainment director and how do you deal with them?
Poor or lack of proper response to some issues affecting students by the University management.
Sometimes it tends to be difficult to balance between the duties and studies as a lot of time is spent on moving from one office to another to solve students’ issues.
Pressure and some dissatisfaction, especially from the opposition side as they always would wish to see you not performing and achieving your targeted goals.
The above challenges are overcome by proper time plan and time management, always being proactive, being patient and persistent and remaining focused on your goals and objectives.
What have you done for Meru university students since your election?
Since my elections, I’ve worked hard to coordinate with University management to put my manifestos into realities hence achieving several of them which include fixing of DSTVs in students hostel, purchase of University sound system, organizing of students bashes such as freshmen welcoming bashes and hosting the MSETO CAMPUS TOUR by royal media services among others.
How different is your leadership style from your predecessors?
My leadership style is interactive, very cool, full of actions and performances compared to the past arrogant and chest beating style of leadership.
Some student leaders misappropriate funds from the student kitty once they assume office, what is your advice to them?
Students’ funds are budgeted for and are supposed to meet student affairs. Misappropriating such funds shows lack of competence and accountability in the office, corruption, and maliciousness hence they have no other option but instead to cease from holding the offices.
A new breed of university girls are making the first move on men, have any hit on you, would you date a girl that makes a first move on. Give reasons for your responses.
NO! Dating a girl is a decision that should be made by me on which type of a lady to date. Most of university girls normally rush to men out of lust, admiration and/or because some men are celebrities and have money. Men instead take an advantage over this by using the girls then dumping them when they are done with them, leaving them helpless and very desperate. Am not in a position to see this happening, hence I would rather advise such lady to consult her heart and maintain self-respect rather that misleading her.
If you made a girl pregnant and you have no job and means to support the baby and mother, would you accept responsibility? What is your take on guys who run away from responsibility?
There is no other option but to accept the responsibility.
They should style up! Nobody forced them into that mess and it is so shameful to impregnate a lady then run away from responsibility.
Lesbianism is on the rise in universities, why do you think so… don’t men exist in Universities?
(Laughing)…… we have a good number of handsome men who exist in the universities. But with lesbianism, I think most of ladies are just desperate; nowadays men shy away from dating ladies who don’t take the relationships seriously hence end up breaking their hearts.
Your last word to university students reading this?
Life is what you want it to be. Being in the university is an opportunity that was admired by many, but very few individuals have managed to experience it. It’s just a matter of realizing why you are in the university, and then enjoy each day as it comes. Above all, open the third eye, be wise, and take care!
