For some of us, graduation is just a step away and we are at a loss
about what to do next. When we think about that future, we imagine
ourselves jumping into new careers immediately.
After graduation, I will start my own business regardless of
which kind of business. There are plenty of ideas that can be put into
action.

But, not to break your bubble, jobs are not that easy to come by
because of the current economy. So, what do you do if you do not get
that job instantly or aren’t seeking the 8-5 job schedule yet?
There are varieties of things one can do as soon as days after
graduation. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you think hard about it
so that it can be part of your resume. Read on for the list of things
you can do. Get an internship
Internships are good foundations for sharpening your skills in the
specific field. They offer a great work experience that you can add to
your resume. They also help connect with potential employers. Invest in your passion
What is it you love? Is it writing, painting or singing? You can turn
your passion into a part time job. You can also consider enrolling for a
course that can help refine your interests. For example, if you love
writing, you can take a writing class and install all softwares for
writing on your laptop. You can also venture into writing for
newspapers, magazines or blogs and get paid for it. Take a continuing education class
You can further your studies by taking a short course which is not
necessarily be part of what you majored in at college. You can take a
short course such as graphic and design which will act as a foundation
as you look for a job. Moreover, this classes are usually inexpensive
than the four year courses at the University but offer the same real
life experiences and skills. Travel
The best time to travel is usually after college as there is plenty
of time at hand that you will probably never have again. You can take a
trip to a destination of your choice; a place that intrigues you that
you have never been before. While, on your trip, take a lot of pictures
and write about your experiences. You can share this as an example of

If the corporate world is not working for you, you can take matters
into your own hands and start a business. Focus on area that you are
knowledgeable and passionate about. For example, if you took a course in
computer, you can start a computer repair shop. Consulting companies
are also low-risk endeavors that require little starting capital.
Use well the time you will have after graduation because you will
probably never get another chance like that. Instead of worrying about
your likelihood to get a job, follow the above steps and in no time, as
you engage in other activities, you will land yourself a job. These are
just a few of the very many things you can do as your search for a
career. So, all the best in your endeavors when that time comes!
